About the Artist’s Way Workshop

The Artist’s Way with Julia Cameron is an extraordinary workbook to increase creativity in your life—whether or not you are an artist. Who does this 13-week workshop help?

  • Anyone who wants to be more creative in their life

  • Anyone who dreams of being an artist

  • Anyone going through a life or job transition who wants insight to guide their next steps

  • Anyone who is blocked or in a rut in their life or art practice

  • Artists who are struggling with their practice

  • Artists who are doing ok but want to thrive

With the end of summer and the coming autumn, it's the perfect time to cultivate creativity and add some joy to your days as we head into the year's end. Led by local artist and seasoned facilitator, Sarah C.B. Guthrie, this group will gather in the beautiful space offered at Studio Life in Ravenna for weekly, facilitated conversations and activities from the book.

Participants can expect 13 2-hour weekly sessions, including an orientation session and 12 weekly interactive workshops that help you recover and/or grow your sense of play and creativity. You’ll gain tools and resources that you can turn to when you feel blocked, fearful, or limited. You will learn ways to open up your imagination, find your voice, and grow your creative practice. Weekly homework includes daily writing (don’t panic—it’s not fancy writing—it’s just for you) and Artist Dates.

“About 20 years ago, I picked up a copy of The Artist’s Way and it began a journey that brought creativity back to the center of my life,” said Sarah. “Everyone’s experience with The Artist’s Way Workshop is different. For some people, it’s about reprioritizing what matters, or getting unstuck, or letting loose, or finding a community of people who are also looking to bring more creativity into their lives. The Artist’s Way is great for both artists and non-artists. It is about feeling connected and joyful in your life and there is no better tool to be more creative.”
