with Holly Goodman of Sablewood Paper Co
July 28, 10am-12pm
This class is designed for beginning calligraphers and will teach you the basics of Modern Calligraphy: how to use your tools, the most effective ways to practice, tips to creating pefect strokes and connecting letters, and tricks to improving your calligraphy. You’ll get to take home all of the materials included in this class: a 22-page workbook to help you on your calligraphy journey, a straight pen holder, black ink, 2 nibs, my favorite tried-and-true paper, and my contact information (so that you can reach out to me with any questions you have after the class)!
Holly Goodman is the calligrapher and owner of Sablewood Paper Company, a Seattle-based design studio. After working for 6 years as a graphic designer, she started creating beautiful pieces for weddings and never looked back. Her award-winning work has been featured in national bridal publications and blogs and she is very active in the Seattle wedding community. A self-taught calligrapher herself, Holly shares her educational resources in the calligraphy and lettering communities across the country through her blog and through dedicated calligraphy groups. When she closes up shop for the evening, Holly’s creativity doesn’t stop there: she can often be found reading and writing, sketching, and making candles to burn in her home studio...all while trying to keep her cats off her desk.
Purchases for your class are final, however if something comes up and you cannot make it, you may find a replacement for your seat. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any replacement requests.
